well wait a minute...my fidanza aluminum flywheel cam with 2 sets of blance weights...one 28 and one 50...would this still work?

Will a 289 fidanza aluminum flywheel and Mcleod set up work with a late model bell housing and t-5? If not...why?

Here's some good reading from the Modern Driveline website.

http://moderndriveline.com/Technical...ansmission.htm

It all has to work in conjunction. If you're going to stay with your current flywheel and clutch, you're going to have to build around it.

well...spoke to modern drivline to day (Bruce) and he explained everything real good...i can use the current flywheel regardless of going to a aftermarket bell or not....the bad thing is i have Hooker headers and the cable will not work with these headers....so that means i have to retain the stock linkages which sucks...so i may re-think the whole situation....the cost was $2000 for the t-5Z tranny and all accessories needed to do the conversion...not bad at all BUT i hate the fact of having to leave the linkages there....

Used stock linkage on mine and like it fine.

Yup, the only thing changed on mine was the trans, trans adapter and the cross memeber. Works fine. And a shorter drive shaft.

Buy anice rebuilttransmission for 800-1000 and use the difference in cost to buy different headers that will clear. You'll come out ahead.

The TKO 500/600 will fit if you buy the T-5 cross-member and modify it by dropping it about 1 and1/2". By doing this no floor modifications are needed. I have found this drop to be without consequence with regard to how the engine fits and driveline alignment.
