How to put the ignition cylinder together

RE: How to put the ignition cylinder together
IDK,,, I tried to line everything up and just kept trying!
I did use some white grease on the cyl, used a screwdriver to turn the switch inside of the cylinder, and pushed in through the little hole while trying to assemble, eventually it went... was neither smooth or easy for me, and I tried so many things that I can't remember what worked... I wasted somewhere in the neighborhood of a half an hour trying to assemble..

hmmm if you're talking 65 model and you mean the ignition cylinder for the lock, then this might help:

Pffft, those things are cake Those shop manual instructions are great (this is why everyone needs a shop manual). The problem with these things is that if you end up turning the key in the lock cylinder while it's out, you have to go at it with a paperclip again to get it to the right spot for it to go back into the switch, which is one turn counter-clockwise of the accessory position.
