Default 289 Head- Valve specs

I've been looking at the valve size on the 289 head and it seems prety small in comparison with the SB chevy.
The 66 shop manual says the stock head has aintake valve of 1.677 max. I see that some guy on ebay has a head with 1.94's installed.

Can a bigger intake valve be accomodated in thefactory 289 head (like a 2.02)?

the 289's should be 1.78 / 1.46 IIRC and the 351's were the 1.85 / 1.54. thats the easy upgrade and doesnt require alot of machine work the blend em in. going to 1.94 / 1.54 or even 1.60 is the best bet, but its more work to blend em in.
