Default 66' coupe- too much play in the steering

I've got a 66' coupe with a drop in the front end which apparently caused the manual(non power) steering to become very loose. How can I, 1. get power steering in it, or 2. fix the play in the manual steering

Not exactly sure how dropping the front end would make the steering loose. Is it loose as in a worn steering box, or loose as in slop in the ball joints and tie rods?

you could upgrade to an aftermarket power r&p setup

+1 on the R&P upgrade Flamming River makes great manual and power steering kits. I have a manual setup on wy car and it handles very time virtually no play.

the RaP setup will cost about $1500 for the swap. kinda expensive if you ask me.

and to just swap to a stock power steeering setup would take just as much work but not quite as much money.

but if its so loose, then why go with PS at all??

id suggest to rebuild the steering linkage with this kit and that should tighten it up again.
