Default stroker kits

I recently bought a 351w from a junkyard to find out that its not good. My 302 in the shed is also 40 over so rebuilding that is out of the question. So I will be going back to the junkyard to find a 351w block to send it to get rebuilt. I will be buying the edelbrock package for the windsor. As for the pistons push rods and cranshaft, I was thinking of getting a stroker kit. I looked at rpmmachine.com and they look like good stroker kits for a decent price. Anybody know any other websites that sell quality stroker kits? Also does making it a 383 or 408 increase the bore size? I want to rebuild the engine atleast one more time down the road instead of having to find another block all over again.

stroking a motor does not increase the bore size. boring it out does. most kits come with .030 or more pistons so you do hafta get it bored if thats what you are asking

Have you thought about a short block since you have no usable parts at this time?

I would buy one if the price is right, the mechanic that does engine work for me does it at a dirt cheap price. Maybe I am not looking hard enough, but I have not found many websites with stroker kits.

alarm bells start ringing for me when youmention "engine work" and "dirt cheap" in the same sentence.

What do you actually want from this engine and why do you expect to rebuild it again down the road?

btw, the 302 you have can be resleeved as well.

He is my dad's freind who installed his 5.0 in his 66 correctly, and worked on the 302. He does mechanic work cheap, takes his time and does a quality work. What i want from the engine is a stroked engine with the edelbrock package. I said rebuilding just in case when it gets old. Like that 351w we have is bored 60 overand the block cannot be rebuilt again, or so I am told.

ok fair 'nuff

when I said what do you want from the engine, i meant in terms of what hp/tq and how you drive it etc. there are rebuilds and then there are rebuilds...

The 302 I had in it was to slow for me, so I am looking for a major power increase. At first, my initial plan was just swapping a 351 in their with a 4 barrel carb with intake, but since the engine I bought was no good, I am going to start from the block up. Since I am starting from theblock up, I want this car to be a weekend warrior.I know the edelbrock package will give me about 360 horses, and what ever the 393 or 408 stroker kit adds I have no clue. I already have headers and flowmaster 40s.
