67 Mustang???? Setup????
How much would you say a mustang would be pushing as far horsepower goes with
this setup----- 289 c.i. V8 motor, C-4 Automatic Transmission. Edelbrock high
performance intake manifold with 4-Barrel Holly carb. Also a 9 inch rear end
with 4.11 gears. I just need a ruff estimate. And as well what do you think it would run in the quarter.

RE: 67 Mustang???? Setup????
Without Aftermarket heads or cam, a basically stock 4 bbl 289 will put out about 180 Hp.
(Yes I know an a code is rated at 220hp, but if you believe that you should be driving a honda).
Taking that throbbing 180 hp through a c4 and a 9" would leave you with around 140 -150 hp at the wheels, which should be goods for about a 16 sec quarter.

432hp, 11.386 in the 1/4

It's at least running 10s......
in the 1/8
The setup described above will not be pushing more than 170 HP (generous estimation) to the back tire or roughly 200 HP at the crank (again generous)

a 200hp shot of NOS should get you there!

Going to 300 crank HP on a 289 is about the same as doing it on a 302.
Heads, cam, lifters, rods, rockers, timing, intake, carb, and oil pump. This of course assumes the bottom end needs no work at all. But that's just my opinion

RE: 67 Mustang???? Setup????
The benefit of a roller block is obviously roller lifters which mean you can run more aggressive cam grinds and have less of an 'aggresive' idle than in standard hydro flat tappet. You can use retro fit kits to installed roller lifters in most blocks these days, but having a block designed for them saves you a little money.

Welcome to the forum REM!
Aftermarket heads will go a long way to making your goal.
You would want to go with a fairly warm cam, a good modern intake, (I like RPM AirGap), headers, etc.
If the engine is not fresh, you will want to freshen it up, (i.e. rebuild before) before sticking a bunch of money into it.
If rebuilding is in the future, stroke that puppy to a 331 or 347...
