will a 250 or 300 bolt strait in and work with everything else?

I know they will bolt in, but i dont know if they will work with the tranny. Plus you will have some clearance problems with the hood. I'm not sure but i think the 250 and 300 have a small block V8 bolt pattern on the tranny. Someone correct me if i am wrong.
