Default 65 Dashpad

Should I apply contact cement to the metal "chin" portions of my dash before I install the dashpad? I know when I cleaned up the metal after removing the old pad there was foam glued to it? What do you guys think?

i think when the original has installed they glued it there to so the only support was not the trim screws at the windsheild. i reglued mine when i replaced. i know someone who did not and when you put any down pressure on the chin..it moves the whole thing......

M ustang Monthly has a real nice step by step with photos online for the replacement of a 65/66 dashpad. You probably only need to go to the last page, which is the install page.
