I've got the cowl off my 1970 and am replacing with a donor. Need to fix vent opening (cowl kick panel) also rusted. They don't make a replacement part and will need to fab something up. Any suggestions. The po5 15 on it now was when I tokk out lower dash last year - just put it on hoping to slow down rust. Need to fix this before I replace the cowl.

Yep, we had the same problem. We looked everywhere and unfortunately we could not find that panel. We just welded over the whole panel with a patch. We are not planning to put the vents back in.While the Upper cowl was off we could give the inside a thorough coat of rust encapsulator and rubberized truck bed coating.

I'd like th put the vent back in - like having fresh come in as you drive. Guess it's time to paly with the welder and see if I can rig something up.

Proabably not. Vent opeing on the kickwall are a lot larger than the hats (vents) on lower cowl. Thanks for posting though.
