Default Should I get these parts blasted

Front bumper mounts. They are not bad but need attention as long as it is apart. I don't know the pros and cons of various methods of cleaning them up. Should I take them to a blaster. I could spend days sanding, or is this a job for POR-15 or a rust remover or a rust converter like ospho? I'm leaning towards blasting since they are just small parts with very heavy metal.

It shouldn't take that long with a drill and wire wheel, or sand paper and wire brush. Then treat with a rust coverting product and paint.A dremel also helps to get in smaller areas. Just depends on how much time or money you want to spend.

If you want to remove the rust with little abraision, you can take some cleaning soda (baking soda pretty much) and get a container/bucket/tub with some clean water and use a battery charger if available. Put about a tablespoon of the soda in the water, set the metal in the water, hook the negative lead of the charger on the piece with rust and take a long piece of metal that can stick out of the water and hook the positive lead to that one. set the charger on about a 2 amp charge and after a bit the rust should be mostly gone if not all. I've done this once out of curiosity and it worked.
