I have been searching unsuccessfully for a way to lock the hood on my 65 Mustang, so that only I can open it. The only locks that I have found are the pin type and you have to drill holes in your hood. I do not want to do that. Has anybody figured out a way to lock their hoods without drilling holes in it? I just don't want any potential thief or vandalizer to be able to open the hood. Thanks alot for any info.
Back when I was a young whippersnapper, I used a nice piece of chain and a Master lock. Looped through the hood latch and lower latch support...worked like a champ.
My step dad told me he use to do the same thing on older cars a chain and pad lock.I wonder how hard it would be to rig up a cable pull latch like most newer cars have.
I say go with the bike lock too it seems like the easiest way to me... I looked around and could not find a mechanism for locking down a classic hood without pins... it just does not seem like there is a way to do it...
