Use Permatex #2 on the bolts that thread into the coolant passages. Other than that, anti-sieze on everything else.

I would recommend changing the timing chain though, unless you've done it recently. Better to do it now while you have it apart

PB blaster is a penetrant that breaks up frozen in place crap. It's great.

Steam clean the engine before you start. It makes for a nicer job. Do check the timing chain and don't forget there are bolts on the oilpan that bolt to the timing chain cover. Don't over tighten the top bolts on the cover if you replace the water pump. These threads are aluminum and can strip. If it were me, I'd replace the timing chain and the water pump while it's torn down. Good luck!

i have everything off the front of the engine(alt-air cond-power steering-radiator) i already have the new timing chain cover and the new water pump. i will check the chain before reasembling everything but it will be a little while. i want to paint what i can of the eng block and i am also putting headers on at the same time.
