Default Forgive My Stupidity!!!! Tri-y's do fit!!!

Feel quite foolish but even more relieved! i was told by a friend of mine that i had a rack&pinion set up but in reality it is a Factory power Seering set-up!LOL there is a bracket on the frame that let me move the power steering down about 2 or 3 inches and the tri-ys fit like a glove!!! now my only small problem is keeping the cable for the clutch from burning as the header does press up against the cable on the bell housing. what would be the best stuff to put on the cable so it stays in good shape???

Can you tie it back witha zip tie or something? Other than that, try to find some of the flexible heat shield tubing to slip over it.

Sorry, that's all I can think of.

theres not much room because its between the header and the bell housing,if i do use a high heat shield will that be enough to keep damage from the cable????

I think that would be fine, I can't imagine that it's that hot at the collector, which is where I assume you are having clearance issues.

I can only speak about my speedo cable. It melted with heat wrap, so I had to zip tie it out of the way.

Be careful of that drop bracket that allows the Tri Y's to fit. The power steering ram exerts a lot of force on it and, now being lowered, puts tremendous leverage on the frame. I almost guarantee the bolts that hold the drop bracket to the frame will pull out and/ or the frame will crack as a result of the increased leverage.

I'll try to find a picture of reinforcements people have done to the bracket.

i bought the chrome tri-y's from Sacramento mustangs. i have never seen a header in all these years tuck up so tight as these Tri-ys!!! i used the stock bracket on the factory power steering to drop the arm with the rubber boot on it,i didnt need to use any other bracket. very cool how tight up these things fit!!
