Default Best tool for cutting sheet metal

I recently have taken out my inner fender well and cowl. I'm now an expert on taken out spot welds. But I need to fab a few pieces of sheet metal to patch upsome some spots. When trying to cut some small peices cut off wheel is to slow, jig saw shakes the metal so much make it difficult to cut. What the best way you have found for cuttingand shaping small pieces. thanks

the easiest way is to use a plasma cutter, but those are expensive. what about some electric or air powered metal shears? i dont know how thick of metal they will cut, but its worth looking into

+1 on the plasma cutter. the best way to remove spotwelds is a spotweld cutter AKA RotaCut bits 5/16 i beleave, best tool for under $30i have purchased yet. for cutting small pieces for pannel repair use a good Quality cutoff wheel with your angel grinder

I used cut-off wheels. They were fairly quick.... maybe you need to try another brand of wheel? Check the speed rating for the wheel.... IMO, those rated over 20,000 rpm hold up better. I went through BOXES of wheels...

For real small pieces, just use some tin snips. If it distorts the metal, hammer it back flat.

Air nibblers are awesome, if I had one it would give the motivation to fab up a bunch of stuff...

all noisy tools :-)
i usually take a sheet of paper, hold that up and mark it to how it's cut. tape that to a sheet metal and cut it with sheet metal scissors
gives you strong hands
