Default How Loud is the car?

Might sound like a strange question but how loud is the engineon say a 1966 starting up? I will be checking one out sometime soon in person. Been decades since been in mustang.I tried going to youtube but clips on it are people showing off or showing the engine problemsI have the luxury of having just a 5 minute trip to work.I also have the luxury of leaving at the crack of dawn. Will my neighbors be woken up and pissed at me for waking them up each morning?

.probablywont have to worry about niehbors...not with a stocksetup.ive never had anyone complain toeven comment on mine (302W/ H pipe)in the morningthey are pretty quiet when stock. think along the lines of alighttruck (not deisel)in terms of volume, with a better sound to them

really much depends on the car.
IMHO it's a waste to start a 40year old engine for a 5 min trip to work. The engine will never ever get warm it that time.
i have a clip here and you can here passing traffic for reference, but that's with flowmaster exhausts.
(the highpitch dingadinggdinngding is fixed now. was the hadbrake cable fixture rattling against exhaust)

thats a video of my car with stock exhaust idling. You shouldnt have too many problems waking ppl up if you stick with a quiet exhaust setup.

kalli is right tho, an engine should run for like 10 min or so before it is shut off so it can reach full operating temp or it will slowly damage the engine.

I guess it would have to depend on how cool your neighbors are. I have two 14 inch glasspacks on mine and my neighbors think its the coolest thing ever when I start it up at 5 am to go school.

What kalli and ninteen66mustang said is right. You should make sure the engine is warmed up more than just 5 minutes.
