Getting ready to buy carb/manifold-last minute questions
I think I finally decided to go with a holley 570 carb and wieand 8124 intake.(upgrading a stock 2v 289)
I think I might go with holley or tri y headers.
When I call Summitt for the carb/manifold, I am sure they are going to be helpful, but what other parts/gaskets,linkage/spacers/air filterect....should I pick up for a smooth insulation....this is new to me?
thanks Scott

id make sure if your car is an automatic that the holley carb will accept your kickdown, cable or rod. if that particular carb doesent then im certain they will help you out with some linkage. air cleaner is pretty much up to you as they have a ton of different ones just make sure you dont go too big because of hood clearance issues. you may need some type of fitting to hook the fuel line up, my street avenger was the only carb that i ever got that came with its own fuel line. 99% of the time the intakes dont come with gaskets so youll need them also. also if you go to headers im sure your gonna need some new type of h-pipe as long tubes will not hook up to a factory exhaust, unless you have long tubes now of course. i remember reading somewhere and im sure guys here will verify this that when you install long tube headers on cars with power steering(if your car has it) i think youll need a drop down bracket for the steering unit under the car. other than that maybe some rubber fuel line and hose clamps but thats little stuff a parts house will have handy. thats all i can think of right now.

Yeah, check the carb, mine came with kickdown linkage but I dunno if it's for a Ford or Chevy, I have a stick so I don't care.[:-]
Use these intake gaskets....

They come with crossover block offs and the sealant comes in them, so you don't need to add any. Don't use the cork end seals, use RTV black.

Yep, definitly say no to the cork! I know its temping to put them on there, but just get some Permatex Ultra Black and put on a nice thick bead and you'll be way better off.
