I started the engine today and it has a rod knock! Just kiddin. I got it on the engine run stand today. That was a project in of itself. It was made for a 302 but with my deep sump pan it didn't want to fit. The plate in the rear of the stand had to come off as well. The starters we had wouldn't make contact with the fly wheel. I went and purchased a standard transmission starter and it had the same problem. So we figured if we took my plate that came with my scattershield and rigged it to the stand it would work. The centerline between the crank and the starter were closer together on my plate. I got hung up on the Summit racing plug wires. The boots are 90 deg and will not work with my shorties. I was able to prime the engine up to 40 psi with my dewalt drill. Tomorrow I will buy new wires and get her cranked up.

She's alive! I started the engine yesterday and made numerous adjustments to the roller rockers. The back of the heads were leaking water. I used the cometics and now have learned that they are notorious for leaking. After getting the engine up to running temp of 200 deg three different times they seem to have stopped. I may have oil leaking from the back of the heads but I won't know until tomorrow. We have only made a few adjustments (besides the rockers) so far. It sounds like a jollopy without mufflers!

I just fininshed installing a blower on my EFI 68 and found out I am having a similiar problem. I picked the car up from the tuner and he said there was a coolant leak at the back of the engine but he thought it was a coolant hose. I don't know how that could be since the hosed are new. I will have to take a look at the heads a little closer. Your leak stopped after bringing it up to temp a couple times though? Hmm, easy fix I guess.

Congrats on the blower. You should be making crazy power. I made 402 rwhp and 414 ftbl with a crappyFord E303 cam on my 306. You should be much higher. Are you going to dyno it. If so I will take a guess of 475 rwhp.

I wouldn't worry too much about the detonation with that motor. We've run more boost and higher CR than that. Your CR is just fine. You'll probably get teh total timin in around 20-25, depending on what the meth lets you hit.
What kind of RA did you get on the heads and block ? If it isn't right, it will leak no matter what.
