Default Dead turn signals

Turn signals just died. No warning. Have tried shorting across each fuse with turn signal engaged with no luck, so I know it's not a fuse. Flashers work OK, as do brakes, so I know it's not the wiring or the bulbs. How can I check the switch itself - or is it more likely that it's theblinker can?Probably the original... !!

You should have two flasher units, not just one. The turn signal one can be dead. That or the fuse would be the first things to check.

You have a little round turn signal flasher plug-in switch just under the dash (should be on the right side near the ash tray. When it goes south the signals will not flash but all else will still work. Pull it out and replace it and you should be set.

The circuit power comes thru the main flasher (orange and blue wires hooked to it) unit if its dead and the fuses are good it's most likely that flaser. I think you also have a emergency flasher which is a different one that the main turn signals.

+1 on it prolly being the flasher solenoid. You have one for turn signals and 1 for emergency flashers.
