Default Odd stance after being up on stands?

I had the front up on stands and when I let it back down I swear either the front is sitting higher or the back lower (or both). I even sat on the front fenders and bounced it (and I weigh 230) to see that would change anything. AmI nuts or is there something which could cause this. The rear leaf springs are not in great shape and the shocks are probably 25 years old or older. The jack stands were on the front rail near the frame rails. I raised it with a floor jack under the front rail. The car had a bad stance with a low back end prior to this. New rear leafs are on the schedule.

with the front end being off the ground for awhile, the front end is probably just really relaxed with the shock towers and all that right where they should be. I'm sure it will settle back down if it was the front end that was indeed affected.

Mine did the same thing, drove it around the block slow and she fell back to normal height.

It will take about a week or so to return. Driving will help.

Isn't that wierd that these older cars need to settle? Even after being on jack stands for a bitor with new suspension components installed. I understand it, but it is just wierd to me.

Thanks honeygoldcoupe. I was going to ask the same question, but my shop is too cluttered to get a good picture. Mine's doing the exact same thing after being on and off the jacks for a year. I figured putting the radiator in and all the front end on would settle it a bit, but I was wrong. I was planning to put new leafs under the back end and cut the front coils down, but I think I'll just stick to the new leaf springs for now.

At the shop I work at, I've notice cars will sit higher when Im done with themthan when they did before, with only about 10 minutes on the lift. If you had it on the stands for a considerable amount of time, I'm sure just like everyone has suggested that the suspension has relaxed alittle.
