RE: 66 pony interior
not exactly sure -I might be wrong with this -with pony interioryou dont need the carpet on the kick panels-I think the GT model with pony interiorwas the only one with carpet on the panels. ..so if you have a "regular" 66 you can have pony interior without having the carpet on the panels.
I put 6 1/2 inch speakers in my panels(the after market kind that stick out to receive the speakers depth)..the look and sound great.. By the way I am currently putting in new carpet too ....Scott

If you really want the carpet on the kick panel just glue it on and then cut the hole for the speaker. Better yet buy the kick panels with the speaker holes already there and then carpet them and cut the holes in the carpet.
I have Pony Interior and I even bought the carpet for them butnever glued the carpert on them. I liked it better without. AllI did was put the silver trim on it.

I've wondered about the kick panel speaker pods, but assume they would take up too much foot room. I have pretty big feet. I'm planning on replacing the useless dash speaker witha pair of 3 1/2" Boston Acoustics I have lying around.
If you do the kick panel speakers, be sure to post a pic and give your impressions, please.

Actually my regular 66 pony had the carpeted kick pannels...I noticed that when we was tearing her down. I gotta do something for better tunes. I wanna put a pait of 6 by 9 nines in back too.
