Default some ppl should not be allowed a spray can

Hi all,

do you think there's a chance to get the colour off the device without destroying the lenses?
I hope that noone will bid on this ugly thing ...

Yea, with a lot of carefull work, you should be able to get the paint off.

Worst case you might need to cut some "new" lenses out of something else, but with patience and maybe some polish, I think they will clean up.

Yeah should come off with some laquer thinner or something. I love my spray cans and it can turn out great, but I do agree they are often used in a wrong manner or not correctly

i never throught about cutting lenses outa something else.
Sure I could always ask a glass cutter ...
I'm not bothered about the rest of the rally pac as I can easily spray over it .... *fg*
might go for it if it sells cheap

Laquer thnner on plastic lenses, I don't think so. It will melt them. Best way is to replace the lenses.

could try acetone aswell, but yeah, stuff like that would probably melt the plastic, although not all plastics melt from solvents, never tried it on lenses

I just used laquer thinner on my turn signal lenses and it was fine. My dad just says you want to make it quick and not keep it on there long. Might be best to try mineral spirits or somethin

I would stay away from the thinners. If you can remove them, 3M makes some polishing compounds that will work on these. Also, I have used regular automotive polishing compounds to redo plastic lenses. Staw away from the rough cut's though and use a cotton cloth.

I'll def give that a try if I should ever buy this blue thing to put it out of it's misery :-)
thanks for all ideas. I'm quite c0onvinced you can take the lenses out, so my preferred order would be:
- polish
- thinner
- glas cutter
