Default Funny story...

Tonight I went out to start up my 68. I pumped the gas but she didnt turn over right away. I wasnt paying very close attention to what I was doing and ended up damn near flooding the engine and when it started up it let out a loud BOOM!!!! Seriously I thought I had blown up my exhaust. Fortunately it is still intact. My wife called me right away to make sure I was okay...Our apartment is 3 floors up... she thought I got shot or blew up the car!!

Just had to tell someone about it. She felt healthy on the road when we went for a cruise so I'm not concerned but that backfire had my ears ringing. Gotta be careful!!

When I was young and had a 66 coupe with a 289, 2 barrel carb, and C4, I used to do something that I thought at the time was cool. While cruising down the road I would turn the ignition off and pump the gas to load it up. Then I would shift the C4 into 2nd gear and turn the ignition to the run position. What a loud BOOM!

Did it once on the main drag in the small town I grew up in as I went by a parking lot where city cops were harassing some friends. I think I almost gave the cops a heart attack! They started looking around and a couple jumped in their cars to go after the person who fired a gun towards them.

Like I said, I thought it was cool then. Now, not so much...
