Default Intake Isssues Part II

I LOVE doing things twice... I followed everyones advice and DIDNT use the corks gaskets. layed down a nice bead of permatex ultra black on the ends and around the water ports...filled it up today and it leaked[:@]. I noticed it seemed as if it were not fully cured... I gave it a full 24 hours like the package says. Do I need to wait longer?

Also it says not to fully tighten right away.. How long should I wait before torquing the bolts down

i always use a nice bead of black rtv on the ends,i like it to "set up" for 30 min or so before i lay the manifold in. a thin(i really mean thin)layer around the water jackets just prior to install. the use of 4 guide studs is really important so that you dont slide the manifold back and forth pushing the rtv from its place.i usually just slightly snug the bolts then move on to the rest of the job, carb dist. etc.....if your not in a hurry it wont kill you to wait an hour or 2 to tork the bolts.you want to follow the tork sequence and tork the manifold probably 3 times.DONT over tork.
