Edelbrock Carb owners,..i need pics,..
installed a edelbrock 650 electric choke carb,..
the red wire for the choke goes to the "sta" stud on the back of the alternator
the black wire from the choke goes to ground,...correct?
i purchased the ford adaptor linkage thingy,..for the life of me i can not figure out how to hook up the throttle rod coming from the firewall and the return spring,...can you guys take some pics of different setups you have,..
this is on a 66 302 with C4

Edelbrock recommends NOT hooking the choke positive lead to the alternator STA terminal as it doesn't supply full 12V. I've found that hooking it up to this terminal causes the choke to disengage very, very slowly.
Instead, I recommend hooking it up to the heater power wire.

Why would there be power on the heater wires unless the heater was running? Check it with a volt meter butI don't think you will find power there. I would just run it to the battery side of the soleniod. I know there is power there.

people told me the STA terminal was not a sufficient power source for the electric choke, it doesn't deliver a full 12V. I ran mine to the switched power for the windshield wiper motor.

The heater blower motor gets power ALL the time when the key is on. The blower switch is on the ground side of the circuit. I don't recall which wire is the power wire, but a quick check with a voltmeter or test light will answer that question.
