Default Battery size for a straight 6

Been having starting issues and have now narrowed it down to a bad cell on the battery. Woundering what the recomendations are for the cold cranking amps for a stock straight 6 motor?

Depends alot where you live and the temps you start it in. Up here where temps won't go above zero for weeks during the winter we need alot of CCAs regardless of the draw from the starting system. Warmer climates won't need so much, but it's still a good idea. I won't go below 600 CCAs up here, I've got I believe 665 in my mustang now, but like I said yours will depend on where you are.

IMO, measure the battery tray and buy the highest rated one that will fit.........Or go to Autozone and ask them.

The factory batteries ranged from 45 to 80 amp hours (which is different than CCA). Buy the most battery you can afford based on your need to keep or sell the car. Use a group 24 or 24F if you can find one. More CCA = More $$$.
