Custom Rotisserie question ...
I know a number fo people here have made homemade rotisseries so I figured I'd ask...
Today I noticed that all 4 of our engine stands have a slight upward tilt where the engine mount rack slides into the stand. Its that round slot at the top of the stand. This makes me look at having a stand at each end of the car and when it rotates will the pipe end of the mounting rack bind up inside this slot? Has anyone had any issues with this? How did you setup this section?
Thanks!

RE: Custom Rotisserie question ...
Yep, I don't like the idea of using those. I think the rotisserie needs to be connected with a bottom rail with gussets. Its one thing to hold a 500 lb engine with the center of mass less than 24 inches away and 800 or 1000 pounds with the center7 or 8 foot away. For a little more you can build it once. Also without outriggers, I think these will be easy to tip over. Just my opinion.

RE: Custom Rotisserie question ...
here is my pivot point. I went to the steel yard when I built mine and got two pieces of round pipe that fit in each other tight. I cut a line down length of it (where there was a weld seam in the pipe) so it would clamp and welded two angle irons to either side to run bolts through. I used too small of bolts though and they tend to break when I over torque them. I also drilled a hole and welded a larger nut to the side of the pipe to run a larger bolt for a little more friction.
