LOL you guys crack me up. Its not a repeat its a remix with the chirping.
If it has a SPOOL in it both tires would be locked at all times.
You would know this by,
1. Duel tracks on a burn out.

2. Turning a tight turn left or right from a light or stop sign you would feel the car buck jerk and hear it chirp.
OR

C. The broken axle you will soon have from the above sharp turns.

ok i guess i will just have to wait unitl i get it back on the road to see.
i have never heard it clunk or chirp or anything going around corners but even if it did i doubt i would hear it..(longtube headers, H pipe, burnt out flowmaster 40 series mufflers..the whole thing stops well before the rear axle so its LOUD inside)

why would a locked rear be so bad for driving on the streets? does it just make it harder to control?

Have you ever driven a 4x4 truck with it in 4x4?
If you have you know how it feels on pavement the tires fighting against each other until one over takes the other pulling causing the other side to skip or slide.
Another good example of why a spool is bad for a street car either watch a 18 wheeler turn a trailer or find a toy and watch that.
The rear tires on the trailer will turn together to a point. Once it keeps pulling the inside( which ever way your turning) wheel will slip then actually start spinning the opposite direction. Thats why It doesnt take much to break a axle that is spooled. I doubt anyone that used it on the street would have a spool in it for that reason.
