Default Will this 4 speed fit my car?

Found a wide ratio 4 speed toploader out of a '73 Cougar Q Code. The Cougar has a 351 and I have a 302 in my '68 fastback. The code on the tranny is RUG-BJ1.
How will this transmission work?

Will I have any installation issues?

Any help you guys have would be great.

Thanks

The 351w and the 302 share the same bellhousing pattern. Due to the similarities of the Cougar and Mustang, I doubt you'll have any issues. You may have to play around with crossmembers and linkages, but the toploader should bolt up just fine.

That's a 1972 351 CJ or Boss 351 wide ratio toploader. Most likely a 28 spline. It should work just fine.

Get a good shifter too. I'm running a Hurst Super Street on mine, had to cut the trans tunnel to get it to fit(it sits off the side and is pretty beefy), and it needs an installation kit(linkage rods etc), but works very well, take s abeating like you wouldn't believe, and has positive stops.
