Default my new stang

hello everyone. i finally got my new stang. its a 68 coupe with a 302. the motor was said to have been recently been redone but im not sure. the body is 90 percent done with a little work to do here and there. no rust. but i have a question. i want to do this car right som i think i will tear the engine down and paint it, its an odd orange color right now, and add some nice parts. if you guys had a 302, and plenty of money what would you do to it. looking for some ideas from those who have been there. any info is appriciated. pics soon.

With a 302 like yours I would do the following:
- 331 stoker kit - you could get to 347, but with the 2 bolt mains you may be happier long term with the 331.
- Edelbrock heads (performer RPM)
- Edelbrock Air gap RPM intake
- 4bbl Holley (650CFM) should be fine

Nice find, I actually kind of like that engine color.

What are you looking to get out of the car in the end? Daily driver? weekend fun car? strip car? etc...?

how much money are we talking about???

I'd be spending it on brakes steering suspension drivetrain before a loaded engine.

+1 nineteen66 what do you want the car for?

not to sound like an ***, but money is not really a problem. i would like the car to be a daily driver with some nice get up and go. as for brakes and suspension thats all in the works.

Thats always the best!

For a dd, I would be sure to have good suspension, brakes, steering, elect. ignition, a good sterero, a/c, and most important: 3 point seatbelts at the very least. If you are gonna drive it daily, be sure to have it safe, but comfy.

good luck with the resto!
