Mavericks & Comets are some really nifty little platforms.

75ish LTD Whiskey Runner with a Cleveland or a 460, black steelies & dechromed is a real oddball with a cool factor off the charts. Comfortable too.

well with classics you always find little hidden things "after" you buy it.

but some things to check for.....

rust of course, check the trunk, the floor pans, wheel wells and cowl. a way to check if the cowl is rusted through is pour a cup of water in it and see if it gets inside the car. or another way is look under the dash and see if you can see little holes of sun light shinning through. check all the windows and door locks. try to get a test drive too.

thats all that comes to mind. and since we are talking about which car to buy, ive always liked the cudas and the buick grand national, its not a classic but they are pretty sweet

i wont be going over 8ish grand so it wont be a hemi cuda lol...thanks for the heads up guys...so basically if theres little to no rust it should be pretty good? i also have a hardon for C3 vettes so i might look into one of those as well

well there is more to it... its all kind of relative tho. I would be sure the safety stuff is in good shape, mainly the brakes. If its gonna be your DD, make sure it is comfortable and everything works right and the engine runs very well. Not sure if you will be able to get a good DD for 8k tho. I guess it would depend on what kind of car you look for.
