Since you could virtually build your own car back then, meaning you could order a myriad of add-ons the curb weight varies on all of them. It could be anywhere from 2904 to 2950 or so pounds.

Alum Intake (edelbrock 4 BBL, like $160 at most), Alum water pump, Alum Heads, Convert from heavy generator/alt to newer, lighter one, remove heater (no AC, why need heater?), alum radiator, there's also a fiberglass front clip available for like $500 but I think it may be for racing only. Also, fiberglass bumpers, gut the rear windows and lock them in place so they don't roll down, battery in the trunk.
I'd start with the motor mods as they'll help you significantly more than weight reduction (as stated before)
