Stereo and Alarm on '65
All,
If I install a car alarm with power locks actuators (no power windows) and a car stereo in the glove box (so i don't cut the dash) will I compromise the originality of the Stang and the original value of it?

I don't think you would devalue it at all. If anything the value would go up a bit with the stereo and alarm. If your worried just make sure you don't do anything that's perment and keep all the original parts.

depends on what the car starts out as. if is a plain jane c code then an alarm and stereo would be fine. but no matter what car it is, DO NOT cut up the dashboard. some jackass did that to mine and i had to weld a new radio bezel in. my dad bought a plastic box thats just a little bit bigger than a CD player itself and it bolts up underneath the dash. looks AMAZING imo. its made for aftermarket stereos to go in older cars.
but the power locks sounds like a restomod deal so it depends on how far you go with the restomod that will affect the value. some restomods can really up the value or some can just be hackjobs and ruin a car.

...that's my issue, i'm trying to keep as original as possible. So that is why I want to install the stereo in the glove. The alarm is for piece of mind and the door locks for convenience...i don't think the actuators for the door locks will change the look of feel of it, does this make sense.
What do you all think?

Get an alarm and don't wuss out on it. If you can't install it yourself, take it to a reputable shop that will ( I just installed one by myself and I thought it would be very difficult, but it actually was quite easy and I'm a novice when it comes to electrical). Also don't do a "normal" install, you want to do a "stealth" install. Make it blend in with your factory wiring. I just bought a $400 alarm that I got for $200 through a good deal and I think it was well worth it. Think of it this way, would you rather spend $200 now or $10,000, or whatever your car is worth, later when someone messes with it or steals it???? It is very cheap insurance and it's not short term, it's long term.
If you have any questions on what alarms to look at PM me, I rather not give away what kind of alarm I have to the public. Oh and there is also another great security device, the T-Lock. It replaces your stock shifter T-Handle with one that will only shift out of park with a special key. I will be getting one soon.
