Default Drip rails rotted out

Does anyone know if replacement drip rails are available? I pulled the moulding off and the front 18 inches on both sides came off with it.I surfed around and could only find the moulding not the rails themselves. Does anyone have the lower portion of the "A" post on a donor car they would like to get rid of?? (from the cowl to the first bend at the top of the door glass)

Thanks,
Jeff

they arent a repop I tem so you will have to find a donor. I just cut off two sets one for my roof and one for the donor roof. They were in bad shape after I cut them off so I pitched them. What year car are you working on? Have you thought about shaving the trim off?

Repop drip rails are available for 65-68 cars as far as I know, but not for 69-73.

The 65-66 rails have been around for years and Dynacorn recently came out with new 67-68 pieces.

Thanks for the info. I tried Dynacorn and they do make the 67-68 but no luck with the 65-66.

It is a 66. I did think about shaving the trim off. Did you do that? Has anyone done that? Would thatlet too much water down into the door?? I guess it wouldn't be that much.

I am in the process of shaving mine as I replace the roof. As for water leakage I dont know yet. Hopefully it wont be that bad if at all.

I stand corrected. I could have sworn that the 65-66 drip rails were available as NOS items. They weren't cheap as I'm sure supplies were slowly dwindling, but I guess they've run out.

Bummer,

This guy has some nice info/photos of drip rail removal on his build thread.... probably around page 20.

Good Luck!

I read the post on twenty. saw that he just tacked it together. I didn't read the rest of his posts did he show how he finished it? I might go back and look at his whole thread at a later date. Looked like he is a creative guy. Looking at that site is it just a eleanor forum?
