Default Picked up my motor today!

I couldn't help but to grin when I saw it... The 4th picture has an arrow pointing to a hole that is not threaded. Anyone know what it is for? I was thinking oil dis stick. Also the black plug that is near that hole... is that for the oil pressure sending unit? There is one on the other side of the block too.

its a dipstick hole. the black plugs are just water drainage holes. like if you had the engine run on a dyno, then you pull the plugs when its done to drain it for shipping.

very nice engine. i have the same rockers.

Why oh why yellow???? I thought about painting mine yellow, but it wouldve been the same color as my car. You are going with silver or orange-red right? Also, dont think I would've done the GM TBI kit. It will end up hurting your power a lot, and was never designed to be used in performance applcations. Have you seen the new Fuel injection kits from Professional products? They offer a 4 barrel TBI design that looks strikingly similar to a holley carb. Also they are self contained and are self learning. An overall much better system. Just my opinion. However, with that being said, as far as simplicity, cheapness, and parts availibility, you won't find a more fitting fuel injection setup than the GM TBI.

I like the way the yellow looks. I thought about it (EFI) a lot. Price played a lot with my decision. Tubo City, where I got the EFI kit from, came highly recommended to me from a friend that has restored about a dozen cars. If I end up not liking it then that will be my lesson learned for the next mustang. Thanks for your input though.

you should look into FAST xfi EFI. its what we use on all the EFI engines we build.

i think theres some links and info on it on our website.

Default Received some bad news today

The call I have been preparing for was finally delivered today. The cowl on my car is bad. I wasn't surprised at all being that both of the front floor pans and roof were toast.

Been a while since I provided an update...

I started wiring up my gauge cluster, the cowl has been repaired, the floor boards have been replaced, and I made my final decision on color! I am going with Liquid Platinum (silver) with Platinum Graphite (darker silver) stripes. Sorry I don't have any pics of the work. Right now they are working on the engine bay and should have some paint layed down in a few weeks.
