Having said that I'm now thinking something like a black cherry would look great on my car. No stripes or anything like that.

Just a lot of free time to keep it clean.

Beautiful car can't wait to see the finished product.
Thanks! I think it is awesome when someone puts their own creative touches into a car. That is what makes it look great.

I think most paint guys prefer to paint it this way, mainly because it is easier to get a better quality job painting the doors, trunklid, and hood off the car. Paint the jambs and the underside of all the removed items. Then re-attach everything and paint the entire car. It does make for a cleaner job too.

congrats and cant wait to see this finished
Thanks! I've seen this paint scheme only in pics, never in person but it fits what I wanted to do perfectly. I hope it comes out right. The paint guy has a lot of experience with older cars and knows how it should be right to make it look good and correct. This is an awesome paint scheme and I'll post more pics soon, hopefully of the car painted.

By the way, hats off to you on you car and all the troubles you made it through. I keep thinking, this will be worth it someday.

I'm getting so excited looking at just the smooth body lines of your car. I can't wait to see it in black.

Love the hood and whole package. My favorite little detail about the 67/68 FBs is the little ridge above the back window on the roof. I love how such a small feature ties the whole car together with the ridge on the trunk.
