Best Air Cleaner? Stupid Question?

RE: Best Air Cleaner? Stupid Question?
This may give you a better idea of how it looks. Sorry about the last pic I took it while it was dark outside and with garage closed. The themes of the engine / car are black, chrome, and red. I'm not really interested in keeping the car 100% original as long as my changes can someday be converted back to original if I want to sell the car[which I don't plan to any time soon]. So all the color schemes on the car are my personal preference.
Edit: You can get the valve covers from CJ Pony for $90 if I remember correctly.

As big as you can fit. Stay away from ones like the e'brock proflow, they arent worth the $$$. Flow sucks and the foam catches fire easily.

They also don't filter for crap. The filter element is just a piece of cheap foam. You could throw sand down there if you wanted (and I've seen the result of that on a car driven around in Santa Cruz).

RE: Best Air Cleaner? Stupid Question?
I am planning on going with those valve covers this winter, but was trying to decide if i should paint the block black or not... i'm still not positive. i think my black block with the alluminum heads and intake, with a black shaker and black valve covers would look pretty good. still up in the air.

Black goes well with chrome in my opinion. No matter what color your car is it will look nice. Doesn't show the dirt like a bright blue block would.
As far as air cleaners I think I've made up my mind with the Elite Series Edelbrock Oval Cleaner. I'm getting a cowl induction hood because I'm not going to have enough clearance anyway with the air gap intake manifold. And i'm not going to get a drop base air filter. The oval shape should fit nicely under the cowl and suck in alot of air.
