dual quad setup
#31
Many cars, in the 50's and early 60's had them. The Plymouth Fury, for example, depicted in Christine did, and that was a family car. Thousands of 56-61 Corvettes had dual-quads, and of course the 67 GT500 had them. A dual-quad intake was planned for the 67 GT350, but it was cancelled. You could buy it over the counter, of course, it was already available as an add-on.
heres just a few of the factory dual quad cars.
64 and 65 buick riviera gs 425 ci well as 57 t birds.
1969 z28 302 cross ram. you could also order rear disc brakes and straight pipes with NO MUFFLERS for the street, lol.

Here are some pics of my dual carb set up. I'm running two Holley 4160 600cfm carbs. I had to mount them backwards in order to clear my distributor. This in turn, put my linkage on the driver side. I run the back one progressive, it doesn't start to open until the gas pedal is pressed at about 25% and when the gas is fully pressed down, both carbs are wide open. The Holleys are vacuum secondary's with electric chokes. I ran an equalizer tube from both vacuum canisters (if you zoom in to the pic, you can see the tube). This is my daily driver and only car that I've owned for almost eight years. Gas mileage is ok (as long as I don't drive like a jackass), 12-13 city and 18-20 highway (5 speed TKO-600). I run the back carb with the idle screws a bit richer because I don't want to lean out cylinders 4 and 8.
And....don't pick on my zip ties....I own stock in that company (I don't, but I should).
