If your going with a blower you dont need to be concerned with gear drive noise. Gear drives sound great but wouldnt want it on anything resembling a daily driver.

remember a timing chaine no mater what brand cloyes, edelbroke or what ever WILL eventualy strech trust me i know ive bought them all they just last longer than stock. ive owned my 65 for ten years now and i just installed pete jacksonns ''quite'' gears. i should have done this sooner i could have saved a few bucks on timing chains and gasket kits! and its not that lound,if you have loud exhaust.

The “quiet” gear drive is barely noticeable, sounds like a worn p/s pump. The “noisy” is a louder but not annoying, I have never complained or had a complaint from anybody riding in my car. It seems like most of the ones complaining about them have never had one

any drag car i've seen isn't using a timing chain anymore, guy down the street has 3 drag mopars all with gears on em and flat out told me he'd never trust a chain.

Thanks guys for the input, it's not a daily driver. I live in Washington and yes, it does rain a lot here (still see a lot of classics on the road in the rain though). It's not going to be a serious drag car either. I've gone with my friends to the track but I've never run at the strip but can't wait to go down after my motor is built, dynoed, etc.
When all is said and done, I think the gear drive is the way to go 'cause I'm starting from scratch, but if it was an already built motor I don't think it would be worth it to make the swap.
