67 with starting issues
so i went to start my mustang today. its been a while so the battery was dead. had my brother hook up jumper cables and i got it to slowly crank. i thought the battery may just be that dead so i took it and charged it for a while. i put it back in and it did nothing. hooked a charger up with a 50 amp start and the solenoid just clicked, no turning or even trying. the battery is old so im sure it needs replaced. im thinking the starter is shot, but i wanted to see what others thought. im gonna pull it out tomorrow(hopefully) and have them check it at autozone. anything else i should look for? i just want to try getting it running so i can drive it to a garage to really tear into it. thanks

so its a little cold to be crawling around a stone driveway today so i decided to check some other things. i had the battery on a 6 amp charger for about 3 hours yesterday... along with about 30 minutes of trying to jumpstart, and another 30 minutes with the 50 amp setting on the charger. it wouldnt crank, just the clicking from the solenoid. i tried turning on the headlights today and nothing... battery wont hold a charge at all. that being said, is it possible the battery is to blame? obviously jumping from a big chevy truck is gonna feed it more amps than a charger which would explain why it would slowly crank with that, right? im gonna try swapping to a good battery later and see what happens there. i just dont feel like tearing half the exhaust off to get the starter off only to move it less than a mile. if the battery swap doesnt work ill assume the starter. then ill just pop start it to move it... dont know why i didnt think of that before
