Overall it looks like a good project, but you might want to check for coolant leaks, there is a small pool in the second picture.

Wow that car is pretty........ Dusty! hehe Looks like a fun project!

Floors don't look that bad at all. For a 38 yr old car, I'd say they look great!

Thanks guys. I am really happy with this car, i know what you mean about those floors, I've got pics of them out and the new ones welded in. As far as the engine goes, that is a 302 out of a donor car, it is being replaced with a 393 stroker motor. I am having a hard time tracking down a suitable transmission for it though. I am located in western washington state if anyone has a lead where i might find one. Thanks.

If you're going to be putting in a stroker with that much power you may be better off doing a T5 conversion than looking for a built C4. You can get a built T5 pretty cheap and plus you'll have an overdrive gear for highway driving. I don't know what your area is like but finding a T5 shouldn't be hard, worst case scenario you can get a donor Fox body Mustang on craigslist or kijiji and pull the T5 out of that, even stock they're good for about 330HP. If your heart is set on an automatic I'd look for an AOD transmission as it also has an overdrive gear. NOT the AODE!

Yeah looks pretty good rusted floors are normal on any older car.On a tranny if spend the money for something with a over drive its worth it if you want to drive the car a lot.

That looks like a great project. I seems to be in nice shape. It is in a similar condition to my car when I started. Maybe even a little better. I ended up having to replace metal in doors, replace a quarter panel and patch the other quarter.

Things are pretty solid all the way around. It has its issues with rust, but what Ford doesn't? I'm just glad that the frame rails are in as good as shape as they are. This is my first real project I will be doing by myself, with almost nothing for tools, materials, space, and most importantly cash. Its going to be an uphill battle to say the least.

Great project! Does remind me of:
Full
Of
Rust and
Dents

With a 393 stroker a T5 will not hold up well, particularly with sticky tires and/or fast starts! A TKO or Richmond may be a better option.
