Sorry if I don't get it. I used this MrGasket linkage adapter. Heated up the stock accelerator rod and straightened the bend at the end. It was a no-brainer. This allowed me to used the stock kick-down configuration on my C4.
I looked at doing that as well, putting a torch to my kickdown that is, but I have severe clearance issues in the Mustang II. The engine sets so close to the firewall that it wasn't going to allow for me to "rework" the kickdown rod. I even made a wire template and tried manipulating the bends and offsets to make up the difference....Lokar was the answer for me. I suppose it all comes down to personal preference. As long as it works, it's all good.
I replaced a stock 2 barrel with a 1406 last year, I bought a new throttle linkage rod and it works fine took a lot of fine tuning though. I'll try and post some photos tommorrow.
