pinion angle or driveline?

excellent explanation! My next question, do you set the opposing driveline angles at idle and low speed movement in mind, or optimum load (2-3k RPM)? which changes the position of the rearend which lifts the nose of the rearend. Curious?

under stead throttle the pinion won't rise more than around .5 degrees.

The 1st, 3rd and 5th ones drive the points home for sure.
We are working on trying to get the angles to where they were before the t5 conversion. Turns out the fmx x-member held it about 3/4" higher than t5 one does. It will involve cutting and patching the hump.
The t5 x-member makes the t5 fit without caring about driveline angles! While this might work for most, it failed badly in my case.
We also are lowering the car first since there is way too much space between the top of the tires and the fender arch. This will establish the pinion angle. Reverse eye leaf springs go in today.
Then we will raise the t5, maybe using the fmx x-member.
If that doesn't fix it, it's time for a new driveshaft assy.
Dropping the engine would be the last option since it will snowball into header mods to clear my rack and pinion, and probably fan to shroud issues. Even if we did all that, we still could not get to the theoretical perfect angles the videos show.
So much for the t5 being a plug and play mod...

Just to be clear, the whole car is being lowered, not just the rear. The lowering had to be done with close to 5" from the top of the tire to the fender arch, it just looks ridiculous. We will deal with the pinion angle first and use wedges if required.

ok, i;m just letting you know thats all.
lowering the frint will have little affect on the angle of the shaft.

the rear is easily fixable. the prob is that he has to cut a 1 foot wide by 2 foot long hole in his trans tunnel so he can raise his trans tailshaft arpund 3" to get the angle correct.

Thanks barnett468, we are aware of the valid points you are making but 3" is not going to happen. There is only a 3/4" difference between the fmx and t5 mounts, so how did ford get away with it from the factory?
How many factory installs have the tail shaft pointing up?
Why do oem and aftermarket intakes have a 2-3* angle on the carb pad to compensate for the tailshaft pointing down?
I get all the theory, but I don't see the t5 sharing space with me in the car that a 3" lift would require, that's all. Yes, there will be a bigger hole either way.
This is turning into quite a soap opera...I can't wait to see how it turns out. Maybe it will all be sorted out by this fall and I can drive it regularly again. I'll either love it or list it.
