Default 9 inch rebuild

I am looking for a good website that details rebuilding a 9 inch center sections.

I picked one up at Carlisle with 3.50 open gears, for $60. I couldn't pass it up, I have seen just cases sell for more than that on Ebay.
The draw back is that the case was covered in years of grease and grime and the gears were not covered to protect from dust and dirt. I started cleaning the case up last night using carb and choke cleaner, which is taking it down to bare metal. I plan to repaint it once clean. But because of the dirt in the gears and possibly the bearings, I should pull it apart and clean them up and re-lube it all.

Since I will have the gears out should I think about installing a mini spool or something like that as well?

Thanks
