They are not that complicated pieces of equipment. You can easily build your own. I built one out of some scrap metal. Its nothing fancy but it was free.

you say a few months which may be reasonable....
but if you have any experience with restorations...

actual time spent is two times what is originally expected

Most people use one, then when their project is over, either store it for several years, sell them, or loan them out.

Check your local craigslist, swap papers, contact local car clubs, etc. Find one locally you can rent or borrow.

from stangtjk's picture, it would be almost the same thing to use 2 engine stand that swivel with a very little bit of cutting and welding, incase you don't have a massive supply of scrap metal...

I happen to have a massive supply of scrap metal I didn't use any plans, like I said there is not much to it. Just get 2 pieces of pipe that fit into each other without much play, cap one end of the smaller diameter pipe so it doesn't slide out, weld the outer pipe to a post with a couple legs on it. Then just make a piece to mount the car to it and your done. I threw mine together in an hour or two.

mine took roughly 3 days to complete. most of which was figuring out what I wanted. Mine is over built but it has NO flex like I have seen on some of the professional models. I think that the only thing i would have done differently is to mount the back to the shock mounts so I can work on the rear pannel.

Thanks

I agree with Joe67, acutual time could be much longer. I would like to take my time with this part of the restoration. I will look into building one, looks fun.

Thanks everyone.
