Did the 1967 Mustang "A" code which is a 289 4 barrel come from the factory with an 8" or 9" rear end? My Mustang has a 9" in it but did it come from the factory that way or would it have been switched?

It would have come with a 9" from factory..

No, it wouldn't have. The only 67's that came with 9" rears were K and S code cars. Everything else should've had an 8"

The big blocks did the a code didn't only way to get one with a small block is the gt package.But its a old car it could have been changed over the years.Look on the 3rd member if there is a metal tag on it post all the info on it.

Once again, only the K and S codes got them. The GT package did not include a 9". You may have been able to special order one with an A code and a 9", but you'd probably have to ask Kevin Marti about that.

i have no experience on what Ford did and what not. But anything I've been reading in the past says the same. No such thing as stock 9" on A/C codes
