Think about it! You will get better mileage with a four barrel over a 2 barrel. A four barrel has smaller jets in the first two barrels then the 2 barrel has and as long as you keep your foot out of it you will get better mileage.

what about the holley 4412 2 barrel? you can get 500cfm versions. thats what i run in my race car, and i beleive they can be had for around 200. not sure it would be a good choice since you dont have rule restraints though

Thanks for the edit, but that's not at all what I believe.

You put an intake and new holley 600 on a C code motor (with no other modifications) and I'll take a new Autolite 2100 and let's go run'em.

I'll take that bet.

the guy says he wants a 4 barrell

instead of telling him it will give him headaches, tell him the truth...yes you can run a 4 barrel on a c-code with no problems whatsoever, assuming you choose the right one

i dont think he cares that a 2 barrel will out-perform a 4 barrel...last time i checked not many people are going around trying to see who has the most badass stock 289

Jon, all I'm trying to do is make him understand that putting a 4bbl is not going to get him what he thinks.
