new 68 project

I'm definitely liking your plans. The torque thrusts are a good choice, black with the chrome lip with the green will look sweet. As for the 17s, they are pretty much the limit as to what I would run size wise. I'm running 8 inch wide up front and 9.5 inch out back, but I do get tire rubs every now and again, so maybe more narrow would have been better. Also I would definitely go with a brake booster, it helps immensely.

Yeah im very strongly considering the brake booster, its in the plans, eventually anyways when funds allow, for the wheel sizes imma see about using a 17x7 up front and a 17x8 out back, i havent looked up the wheels much yet but im just assuming (hopin) they make those sizes i think itll work out good that way

well the original rear is a 7.5 i think, the 6 cyl rear, im talking to a guy whos got a rear from a 67 cougar which i think is a 9" im really wantin to get a 9" but may settle for an 8" for now, or may get a 8.8

Nice, definitely a good idea, especially when you're planning on running a 351. I think I have an 8" though it might be a 8.8" can't really remember right now. What kind of gearing are you thinking about?
#48
yeah im thinkin 3.55s or 3.73s, 3.55s will be a little better for highway driving but when i really think about it this car isnt going to see too much highway driving, which really leads me to want 3.73s which will help me really come out of the hole hard, sorry to be a pita but i have another question for you, what size tires are you running, i found a nice set of wheels that are the black bullit style with the chrome lip that are 17x7 up front and 17x9 out back, im thinkin if maybe i run just the same size rear as you are or maybe slightly narrower i wont have any rubbing issues anywhere
#49
I'll check tomorrow for you, but I get a rub up front because they're a bit wide, and out back I'm actually running a 1" spacer to have it ride right to the edge of the wheel-well, to match the front. So I think 9" wide in the back should be ok, well, depending on how wide your rear axle is. I need to find the little book that we've written all the details down in, once I do that I'll be able to help more.

change of plans, gettin a 5.0 efi with harness and computer a t-5 and a completely rebuilt 8.8 with 3.55 gears (which is what i wanted to run anyways ) so now ill be runnin the efi, im very excited, i should be pickin up all the parts later this week, then hopefully this weekend ill park the mustang on the driveway and put her under the knife, ripping out old motor/tranny and old 7.5 rear end to make way for the new drivetrain
