Smile Holley 570 Street Avenger, anyone have one?

I have been bugging you guys about the size of my carb for a while now. I currently have a 670 Street Avenger, I feel is too big for the engine, as I have been having problems. Some guys are saying go to Edelbrock, others holley. I am wondering if anyone has the 570 Street Avenger on a mildly built 289 and how they like it. I am kind of leaning that way, a little bit anyway. Thanks

i'd go with a model 4160 holley 600 cfm, the primaries aren't super dinky like the 570s, and i was able to tune it good enough to drive the car MUCH easier than the 570 i had on the car previously (which kalli is using with no problems on his stock 289)

On the 4160, they say no power valves, jets etc and there are ones with adjustable and non adjustable floats. Help please. Any more opinions on the 570 sure would help. Jonward786, is your car modified at all? Hows the power out of the hole, etc. Thanks

i had one running and I loved it. it went really good with the 289. only modifications were alum intake, electronic ignition. headers and a better flowing exhaust. my car loved that carb

my 289 is pretty much stock, aside from headers, a weiand dual pane, an electronic ignition and a 2.5" exhaust. haven't touched the heads or bottom end at all. runs great. has a lot of pep. and i still havent even tuned the carb 100% yet

only thing ive done to it is i had to bring the float level up a bit (which took literally about 3 minutes) and i think ive finally gotten my mixture and idle dialed in.

ill tune the rest when i have time/energy heh

I've got a 289 that's probably looking at around 270hp at the flywheel with a 570 street avenger and I've been pretty impressed with it. I've only owned two other carbs before it so I'm not a fine conossieur of carburetors. The first being the stock autolite 2 barrel and the second being a 650 Holley that I found would bog down my engine if I really slammed the gas. I would give the 570 a good recommendation.

I have that carb on my 289 currently, with nothing more than headers, edel air-gap intake, mild rv cam, and a duraspark distributer w/ msd 6a. I highly recommend it. Lots of pep compared to the 600 cfm Edelbrock it replaced.
