You get what you pay for in these old cars. A $500 car may cost $5000 in rust repairs, where a $3000 car may be minimal to no rust. Consider the overall cost.

That is 100% true. But I am kinda of wired, LOL but really I would rather have a extremely rough project that spends 100+ hours on the body alone so I can have the satisfaction for the rest of life. Just something to be proud of . Also I need a hobby other than reading how to restore a mustang I can have 100+ hours enjoying myself and have the greatest time .

my dad just picked up a 73 with a great body and paint that had an engine fire for a guy (my dad hauls all kinds of crap). i guess the guy who bought the car only paid like 1300 for it.

there are good deals to be had, you just gotta be patient and wait for something that pops out at you. my friend has a falcon that was originally a 289 car sitting next to his barn just dieing to have someone get it and do a resto. if only i had the cash to dump in it

keep searching craigslist and you may get lucky. Keep an eye out for the one you posted and it may be back on the market after the guy starts messing with it and sees how rough it is and decides it is too much work.

I keep telling you need to spend more money on a car then you will get a better rust free body.Rust is like a iceburg you only see half of it tell you open it up them you wanna cry.Look in az they have some nice rust free cars.

Keep looking on craiglist. I got an original '65 gt a code 4 speed coupe with the original window sticker and sales paperwork from new for 2 grand on craigslist. Needs a restoration, but the body's not bad and it runs pretty well, I drive it from the bay area to San Diego and have minimal problems.
