please clear me up on my 8" vs 9" rear end questions

Default please clear me up on my 8" vs 9" rear end questions
Ok ive been doing some research and i have this question: Im looking at a 69-70 mustang 9" housing that will be a direct fit for my 68 mustang. The question im having is... i was told the my 28 spline axles and rear drum brakes can be swapped out my 8" to the new 9" housing.. is this correct?

The axles can be swapped in the new rear is fitted for 28 spline, and is in deed the same length from end to end.

And the bearings need to be the same. Big bearing, or Small bearings.
